You CAN upload those folders if you want, they have no impact on your redirect. It would just be wasting space on your account. If you feel better uploading them, go for it.

Can you be a bit more descriptive? Simply stating that a folder doesn't work doesn't help solve a problem. Additionally the addons folder don't have an impact on your server as those are server end specific, not client.
