Hello,

We’ve made several adjustments to the download server that should resolve the slow download issues.

As you can imagine, in the 16 years we’ve been in business, we’ve only experienced downtime on perhaps 3 or 4 occasions. This recent transition was a major one, and while there were a few hiccups along the way, some issues simply could not be fully identified until the changes went live. We conducted extensive testing beforehand and did not encounter these problems during that process.

During additional testing with other clients running similar server setups, we identified an issue involving redirects between HTTP and HTTPS. Our Cloudflare settings were forcing HTTPS, which caused repeated back-and-forth requests. We have since corrected this. It also appears that this issue only affected legacy games and not the Half-Life Source franchise, which represents the majority of our client base.

Regarding FTP, as a Linux user, you can also use standard FTP commands if needed.

That said, if you still decide to move on, we completely understand and sincerely thank you for your many years of business with us. We have added a credit to cover your next month of service, so you will have one additional month available.

If you do not plan to continue using the service, we recommend canceling your account before the 1st of the month so your credit does not continue rolling over unused each month. This will also leave the credit available should you decide to return in the future.

I install WinSCP on a Windows box and I'm able to access your server now. I use Ubuntu so I had to use the wife's Winblows box. As for the slow download speed for the end user playing on our Ravenshield game servers. Two game servers point to my gamingredirect account they both reported slow download speed after your upgrades. Neither of our game servers made any chances to the config files (and I couldn't have done on gamingredirect because I couldn't access the account). We've pointed our servers to another redirect site and will use gamingredirect until the money balance runs out. Thanks for the years. Gary

Hello,

We recommend using WinSCP as your FTP client and making sure that ports 10000 and 10100–10109 are open for TCP traffic. Ports 10100–10109 are passive ports, so please make sure your client supports passive mode and that it is enabled. That is why we recommend WinSCP, which you can download from https://winscp.net/eng/download.php

As for slow download speeds, there could be many possible causes. Have you updated your configuration at all? We need more information than what you have provided so far in order to help.

If you are able to provide the game and the IP address of your server, that would help us investigate further.

Lastly, we do not provide refunds as stated in our Terms of Service. If you choose to cancel your account, the remaining balance will be credited to your account and can be used to purchase service again in the future.

Yep, I've been working with a friend trying to resolve this issue. I've even port forwarded 10000 on my router to this pc. I've done all the settings you listed below. I still get "failed to retrieve directory listing." I'm starting to lose hope that I'll ever get this figured out. This problem was brought to my attention when users started to complain about slow downloads as if the redirect wasn't working. That's when I tried to log in and it was all down hill from there., I'm sorry but if I can't access the server via ftp by days end, I will most likely be cancelling my account and ask for a refund of all my remaining funds.

Hello,

Please switch the FTP connection to Passive mode in your FTP client and reconnect. The current error happens because the server is rejecting an Active mode data connection to your local/private IP address (192.168.1.118). Login works, but directory listing fails because the data connection cannot be established.

Also turn off any TLS connection as we only currently have plain text connection.

If you’re using FileZilla:

Open Site Manager
Select the FTP site
Go to Transfer Settings
Set Transfer Mode to Passive
Save and reconnect

If you’re using WinSCP:

Open WinSCP
Select the saved site, then click Edit
Click Advanced
Go to Connection
Set Passive mode / Passive transfers to enabled
Save and reconnect
